- 5+ years payroll processing experience. Preference will be given to those with payroll service provider experience.

- Experience working with Gusto a plus, but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – primarily Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Professional responsibilities will include tasks such as the following:
- Manage and oversee end‑to‑end payroll processing for a portfolio of client companies, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll runs on weekly, biweekly, semi‑monthly, and monthly schedules.
- Serve as the primary payroll point of contact for clients, responding to payroll questions, advising on best practices, and resolving payroll‑related issues in a professional and client‑focused manner.
- Review and process payroll changes including new hires, terminations, wage changes, bonuses, commissions, reimbursements, garnishments, and benefits deductions based on client‑approved documentation.
- Ensure accurate calculation and remittance of federal, state, and local payroll taxes, including multi‑state and local jurisdiction compliance where applicable.
- Oversee payroll tax filings and payments, including Forms 941, 940, W‑2s, W‑3s, and applicable state and local filings, coordinating with third‑party payroll providers when necessary.
- Monitor payroll calendars and compliance deadlines to ensure timely submissions, filings, and payments for all assigned clients.
- Review payroll reports for accuracy and completeness, including gross‑to‑net reconciliations, payroll registers, deduction reports, and tax liability summaries.
- Coordinate and integrate payroll data with client accounting systems, ensuring proper posting and alignment with financial statements.
- Maintain strong internal controls over payroll processing, safeguarding confidential employee and client data and adhering to firm policies, SOC requirements, and data security standards.
- Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including wage and hour requirements, payroll tax updates, and employment‑related compliance changes; proactively communicate impacts to clients and internal teams.
- Assist clients with payroll setup, conversions, and onboarding, including system implementation, data validation, and process documentation.
- Develop and document standardized payroll procedures and workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within the CAS department.
- Support audits, payroll tax notices, and agency inquiries by preparing documentation, research, and responses as needed.
- Collaborate with CAS leadership and client service teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and expanded payroll‑related services.
